From September 24–26, the EPIIC project will participate in the 3rd International ACM Conference of the Greek SIGCHI Chapter — CHIGreece 2025 — hosted this year in Syros, Greece.
The conference focuses on how AI-driven Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) can enhance human capabilities, offering a timely platform for EPIIC to share its work on user-centric technologies for future fighter cockpits.
As part of the agenda, partners from the University of Patras will present a study titled: “Distinguishing Voluntary and Involuntary Blinks Through Eye Openness Metrics.”
This research explores how subtle ocular cues can support the development of intuitive, multimodal cockpit interaction systems — an important dimension of the EPIIC project’s goals for cognitive and neuroadaptive pilot assistance.
CHIGreece brings together researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of AI, HCI, and societal impact, aligning closely with EPIIC’s mission to develop ethically grounded, human-enhancing technologies within the European Defence Fund framework.
