DEUTSCHES ZENTRUM FUR LUFT – UND RAUMFAHRT EV

German Aerospace Center (DLR) (www.dlr.de) is the Federal Republic of Germany's research centre for aeronautics and space. In the fiscal year 2020, DLR's budget for research and operations was 1.261 million euro. DLR employs approximately 10,000 people at 30 locations in Germany and has also offices in Brussels, Paris, Tokyo and Washington D.C.

DLR conducts research and development activities in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security and digitalisation. In EPIIC the Institute of Flight Guidance is involved. It is working on the development and application of future processes and technologies for the integrated airborne and ground-based guidance of aircraft.

In EPIIC from this institute our teams from the departments of Pilot Assistance and Human Factors develop cockpit and head mounted display innovations. An adaptive human-machine interface, crew monitoring sensors and physiological states for interaction for cockpit-pilot interaction modalities will be investigated. The department of pilot assistance is conducting research on methods for the cognitive automatization of on-board flight guidance functions in the scope of an integral support to aircrews. Advanced concepts and assistance systems are developed in the department Human Factors in the context of human-centred automation.
