INSTITUTUL NATIONAL DE CERCETAREDEZVOLTARE AEROSPATIALA "ELIE CARAFOLI"- INCAS BUCURESTI

INCAS is the national research establishment for aerospace sciences in Romania, with more than 70 years of tradition and experience in multi-disciplinary developments with the capability to undertake activities from TRL 1 up to TRL 6 and has knowledge and experience in aeronautics, space, unmanned, material and military technologies. INCAS’s headquarters is located in Bucharest, Romania, where it maintains its greatest aeronautics research concentration. INCAS also has major facilities in Strejnicu (Atmospheric Research & Operational Base), Măneciu Pământeni (ECOTECH Experimental Platform), and in Craiova, INCAS is currently developing the Technologies for Green Aviation Centre. INCAS’s structure is organized into three R&D departments: Systems, Flow Physics and Structures & Materials. The Systems Department includes a Human Factors unit that is involved in the EPIIC project. The HF unit conducts research on human performance in aviation, focusing on areas such as the design of human-machine interface and display, human factors in air traffic control and flight. INCAS will be mainly involved in WP7 Crew Monitoring Sensors and Physiological States, and it will perform activities focusing on the bottom-up analysis of the crew physiological states (physical fatigue) starting at the sensor level (electrocardiogram).
