EPIIC will be well-represented at TechDefense 2025, taking place in Rome, Italy from November 5–7, where consortium partners will showcase advancements in fighter cockpit technologies and human–machine interaction.

Three partner organisations will contribute to the programme:

  • TECNOBIT will present their work on “Integrating Mixed-Criticality Display Technologies for the Enhancement of Large Area Displays in Fighter Cockpits.” This research investigates how scalable, reliable display systems can support the dynamic visual needs of next-generation pilots.
  • INSTA will share early results from “Every Breath You Take – Preliminary Test Results of Fighter Pilots’ Within-Breath Monitoring System,” a study focused on fine-grained physiological monitoring for enhanced real-time assessment of pilot states.
  • Next2U will offer a comprehensive overview in “Enabling fighter pilot assistance: a review on the latest advancements in pilot cognitive workload monitoring,” which examines technologies aimed at anticipating and supporting pilot mental load in operational settings.

These contributions reflect EPIIC’s commitment to advancing European defence capabilities through a multi-disciplinary and human-centred approach to cockpit system design. Events like TechDefense provide a vital platform for cross-sector dialogue and research exchange across Europe’s defence innovation landscape.
