EPIIC partners were among the contributors at TechDefense 2025, held in Rome, Italy, from November 5–7, presenting advances in real-time physiological monitoring and adaptive cockpit systems for the future European fighter.

Two EPIIC partners delivered focused technical presentations:

  • INSTA introduced preliminary test results from a within-breath pilot monitoring system, exploring how subtle variations in breathing patterns can be harnessed to better understand pilot workload and physiological state in dynamic conditions.
  • Next2U shared findings from their review on cognitive workload monitoring, presenting a comprehensive view of how neurophysiological and behavioral signals can support intelligent pilot assistance tools.

These efforts represent key pillars of the EPIIC vision—building cockpit systems that are not only technologically advanced but also deeply aligned with the human operator. TechDefense 2025 offered an ideal venue for connecting this work with ongoing conversations in European defense innovation.

Stay tuned for more updates as EPIIC continues pushing the boundaries of intelligent interaction in the skies.
